DESCRIPTION
The project was executed for Shayadri Ind Ltd, SIPCOT, Perundurai. This project was designed for Asbestos Sheet Specification.
CHALLENGES FACED
It was a challenge to build during the pandemic period. The whole structure consists of a Roof Monitor and louvers in AC sheets. And we fixed the AC sheets covering an area of 15000 square meters set at 12-meter height despite heavy rainfall. With that, we used purlin and their connections to take loads of AC sheets instead of built-up purlins. The main difficulty was to carry out the erection parallelly with all the civil work, plant, and machinery erections. Our site erection area has huge excavation pits, so we operated the cranes with the topmost safety, and there was zero accident.
RISK MANAGEMENT
On Oct 1st, around 3.00 pm, we received a call from the Site stating that one of the column pedestals sank 300mm due to loose soil conditions. Our President, Mr. Selvam, and Sr. Project Manager Askar, with a team of people, rushed to the Site and attended to the issue. The column and structure were restored without any damage using additional crane support. Our team was highly courageous to execute the project throughout the night and even in very heavy rainy conditions.
