414 RRT – Rooftop Gathering Area for Erode Collectorate
This project was executed for M/s RR Thulasi Builders as part of the new Erode Collectorate building. The building comprises 9 floors of RCC construction, topped with an arch-type structure featuring XLPE insulation, an open-to-sky covering for a rooftop gathering area, spanning 21,000 Sq.Ft with a 27-metre span at 60 MT tonnage.
Challenges Faced
High-Rise Erection Without Bottom Support
The structural installation took place on the 10th floor of the RCC building using tower cranes, on an open terrace where the structure itself began from the 4th floor. Instead of crane-based erection, the team used a Derrick with a winch system with the most significant challenge being rafter erection carried out entirely without any bottom support.

Geometrics designed and erected an arch-type structure with XLPE insulation atop a 9-floor RCC building for the new Erode Collectorate. The scope covered structural installation on the 10th floor, using Derrick and winch-based erection instead of standard crane methods, given the building's height and open terrace conditions.
